Interruption to Supply of Typhoid and Hepatitis A/Typhoid Vaccines (Update)

02 October 2012

In January 2012, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) announced an interruption to the supply of Typherix® (Vi polysaccharide typhoid vaccine) and Hepatyrix® (hepatitis A and typhoid combined).

This was due to a delay in the availability of a new manufacturing facility and GSK is prioritising the production of essential childhood vaccines as required by WHO.

Currently:

Typherix® - is now out of stock until the second quarter at the earliest, 2014.

Hepatyrix® - is presently out of stock, however, a delayed supply is expected to be available to order towards the end of 2012. Stock is likely to be depleted early in 2013, until the second quarter 2014.

Havirx Monodose® and Havrix Junior Monodose® - are in supply although demand is high.
