GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has announced that Typherix® (Vi polysaccharide typhoid vaccine) and Hepatyrix® (hepatitis A and typhoid combined) are currently unavailable.
The supply of these vaccines worldwide has been interrupted due to a delay in the availability of a new manufacturing facility. GSK is prioritising the production of essential childhood vaccines as required by WHO.
Typherix® - it is anticipated that this vaccine will be out of stock until spring 2014.
Hepatyrix® - supplies are limited but available until summer 2012, once depleted, it will not be available again until spring 2014.

Ongoing Vaccine Supplies
Typhim Vi® (Vi polysaccharide typhoid vaccine) - Sanofi Pasteur MSD reports no interruption to existing standing orders. For others, orders can be placed and it is estimated that supply will recommence from the end of February 2012.
Currently there are no constraints to supply of Sanofi Pasteur MSD hepatitis A vaccine products: Avaxim® and Vaqta Paediatric®.
