Yellow Fever Vaccine (Stamaril) Availability (Update)

Sanofi Pasteur MSD has announced that Stamaril® yellow fever vaccine is now available in single dose units.  

In order to meet the needs of travellers requiring yellow fever vaccine, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) had agreed to the importation of Stamaril® multi-dose vials (unlicensed in the UK) under special license during the shortage of single dose units.

YFVCs that were able to assist travellers/colleagues during the vaccine shortage, by ordering Stamaril® multi-dose vials will have stock remaining. Where there is an equivalent licensed medical product available YFVCs are advised to cease use of unlicensed stock as soon as is practicable and revert to the use of the licensed product.[1-3]
