Cholera in Nepal (Update)

A small number of cholera cases continue to be reported from Kathmandu in Nepal. Between 23 July and 26 September 2014, 14 cases of cholera were reported. The cases received treatment in the Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital Kathmandu and have since recovered.

Advice for Travellers

Travellers should always maintain a high standard of food, water and personal hygiene whilst in Nepal.

Travellers to outbreak areas who will be mixing closely with the local population and cannot ensure safe drinking water can be immunised against cholera.
