Hajj 2021 (1442) Update 2

16 June 2021

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah have announced that Hajj 2021 (1442) rites will be limited to 60,000 pilgrims who already reside in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This decision has been made due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and emergence of new variants around the world in order to protect the health and safety of pilgrims

The dates for this year's Hajj pilgrimage are 17 - 22 July 2021.

  • Pilgrims planning to travel from the UK to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj 2021 will not be permitted to enter the country.

Please see the TRAVAX Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage page for further information

Advice for Travellers

Those that are planning to travel to Saudi Arabia, but not to undertake Hajj, are strongly advised to monitor the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) guidance, in particular check:

  • if the FCDO permits travel to Saudi Arabia
  • if Saudi Arabia are permitting entry from UK travellers
  • if entry is allowed, what are the entry and quarantine requirements

Please see the TRAVAX Saudi Arabia page for further information.
