Green Book Yellow Fever Chapter Updated

14 January 2020

Yellow fever: the green book, chapter 35 has been revised and updated. This chapter has been updated to reflect the recommendations of the Commission on Human Measures (CHM) to strengthen measures to minimise the potential risk of rare but serious and fatal adverse events associated with yellow fever vaccination (in those with weakened immune systems, those aged 60 years or older and anyone who has had their thymus removed).

The importance of the individual risk assessment is emphasised, to ensure that only individuals who require yellow fever protection or the International Certificate of Vaccination are vaccinated. Further guidance on when exemption certificates should be issued is also included.
