With respect to travellers who have been previously vaccinated with one of the potentially sub-optimal Typhim Vi batches (see news item 8th October for batch numbers) - if travelling again to a typhoid risk area, typhoid vaccine may need to be given again. There is a current shortage of typhoid vaccine but oral Vivotif may be given if available. If unable to access Vivotif, advice on food an water precautions is advised.
