On World Malaria Day (25 April), the Health Protection Agency (HPA) released a report on malaria infections in the UK for 2011. Overall, a 5% decrease in the number of malaria infections was noted, however there was a 22% increase in malaria among travellers returning from the Indian-subcontinent.
