The Ministry of Health for Brazil has issued its recently updated map of risk areas for yellow fever transmission.
The map shows a gradual expansion of the list of municipalities for which yellow fever vaccination is recommended in the four southeastern states of São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul. This comes as a direct result of an outbreak of yellow fever in Brazil in 2009, which occurred in parts of southeastern Brazil that had not reported yellow fever for many years.
The Ministry of Health has also compiled a list of municipalities for which yellow fever vaccination is recommended. The language used is Portuguese, however a legend for English translations has been compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Note: This is a very large document to print.
