Latest Update on Redeveloped TRAVAX Site

19 September 2011

Dear TRAVAX users

The redeveloped TRAVAX site has been live for several weeks now. We hope you are getting used to navigating the pages and using the new features. Please go to the Help section located on the top toolbar to familiarise yourself with the new layout and features.

Please note that we will be switching the old TRAVAX site off at the end of October 2011, so please make sure you have set-up access to the new system. Please refer to the login page if you have any questions.

Based on your feedback we would like to highlight two things as below:

Travel Vaccination Recommendations on the Country Pages

These have been graded according to epidemiology of the disease at the destination. They are split into three different sections, instead of two.

  • Usually Advised - for travellers at risk
  • Sometimes Advised - for travellers at higher risk
  • Selectively Advised - for travellers at highest risk

The “selectively” advised category will be used infrequently and only in very specific circumstances, for example occupational risk.

Use the arrow icons expand to get further information to help decide when to use a particular vaccine based on the type of traveller and travel being undertaken.

Traveller Advice Sheets

You can find these in the Suitcase Open Suitcase. These advice sheets are specifically written for the general public. Locate the suitcase icon on the menu on the left of the screen. Clicking the Suitcase function while conducting a pretravel consultation allows you to select and save advice sheets. These can be emailed to your traveller or printed off; you can also save a copy for your own patient or clinic records.

These are not the same as the fuller health professional advice sheets that you have access to on TRAVAX.

We will be adding the ability to include country profile records to the traveller suitcase over the coming weeks.

The discussion forum will also be going live very soon.
