South Africa - Yellow Fever Certificate Requirements

26 July 2011

The Department of Health for South Africa has made an announcement to clarify the yellow fever certificate requirement for Zambia. They have confirmed that the authorities will not require a yellow fever certificate from travellers to and from Zambia.

Travellers transiting/arriving from Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Sao Tome and Principe, Somalia, and Tanzania to South Africa will however be asked for a yellow fever vaccination certificate.

Travellers to South Africa who will transit or visit other African countries en route should be aware of the yellow fever vaccine recommendations/requirements of individual countries before travel.
